FEATURE STORY IN
MONTGOMERY NEWS
"TICKET" PUBLISHED 10/27/10

The best article to date published on HANNAH GRASER is certainly the one by Craig Ostroff of Montgomery News.

He interviewed Hannah at the Lighthouse lounge in Phoenixville a few months ago in advance of her Chaplin's Music Cafe gig.

Read his article & see an edited video version of his interview with live footage of her on the Steel City Cafe open mic stage:

This article ran in the greater-Philadelphia area in 14 newspapers inside the weekly club guide called "Ticket."

It was a big, big story with two large photos that took up the entire last two pages of the publication!

HANNAH RECEIVES TWO AWARDS AT THE LVMA 12

HANNAH GRASER, who was nominated in NINE categories including Best Singer Songwriter, Best Female Vocalist, Best New Artist, Best Folk Artist, Best Teen Artist, Best Americana Artist, Best Song & Best CD, walked away with TWO.

She won for "Best Music Video" & "Best Duo."

Upon hearing she won
"Best Duo," she immediately texted her friend, Rachel Hertzog (the other half of the Hannah Graser duo), to congratulate her.

The music video that gained her honors was "They Do Decay" which was posted on You Tube months ago. And it apparently won through write-in votes which is a testament to her powerful fan base.

WILDFLOWER  REINCARNATED AS
THE TERRA CAFE !

HANNAH GRASER was shocked to learn that the Wildflower Cafe, the place she haunted with her teen friends, the place where her budding music career began & the place that kicked off her Z Produxions debut disc release "November Breeze," was going out of business.

She made sure to be there at the last open mic run by Bill Medei, the imperial master of festivities & the man who introduced Hannah to Tony Z, who became her manager.

"The Wildflower closing was one of the worst things that ever happened," she lamented.

"I started performing there four or five years ago and I fell in love with it. It breaks my heart that it has to be shut down.

"Since Aaron and Sullivan died and then wildflower died, I feel like it really took a toll on my view of music performing. Its just depressing and I wish I could bring it back."

HANNAH GRASER was the performer chosen to represent the Wildflower Cafe on television back in the summer in advance of Musikfest.

The Wildflower Cafe has now reopened, reincarnated as The Terra Cafe at the same location on Bethlehem's south side.

"ANGELS OF SONG & STORY"

HANNAH GRASER  performed at Timezones on Bethlehem's southside in an event called "Angels of Song & Story" the first week of February.

It featured three generations of women with a literary bent: besides the songwriting prowess of HANNAH GRASER, there was the acclaimed novelist Phoebe Wilcox, whose book "Angels Carry The Sun" is nominated for both the PEN/Faulkner Award & the Pushcart Prize!

Phoebe did a reading between acts.

The show opened with another grand lady singer-songwriter, Sarah Kelton, who came to the area from Nashville. She certainly had that twang-country-thang down.

"ANGELS" FLEW IN TWO LOCAL NEWSPAPERS

These dahling 'angels' of story & song graced TWO local publications: the Bethlehem Press & the Express-Times.

How's that for a publicity coup? HA !

In addition, you'll find that Z Produxions has been placing some 'cool beans' ads in WINK Magazine with the design help of that hooper girl, Tina Hemmerle.

Tina holds the editorial helm of this little cutting- edge 'zine. The current issue showcases the resurgence of all-things Burlesque.

It certainly is a fun & exciting bit of pleasure...

And it's FREE !

"NOVEMBER BREEZE" DISC

Michael McKenna of PA MUSIC SCENE, an online site at

http://www.pamusicscene.com/reviews/pa-music-scene-welcomes-mike-mckenna-as-a-new-contributor/november-breeze-%e2%80%93-hannah-graser/

has written a darling review of HANNAH GRASER's debut disc.

Meanwhile, Dave Howell of the Morning Call also cast his discerning ear on the disc in question.  Since the review is hard to find on the Morning Call website (due to the fact that her picture of the disc is now missing), it is reproduced below:

HANNAH GRASER

"NOVEMBER BREEZE"

(Z PRODUXIONS)

ACOUSTIC SINGER-SONGWRITER

“November Breeze” pretty much captures how Hannah Graser sounds in concert, though it’s not a live CD.

It’s basically just Graser singing with her acoustic guitar. Other musicians appear, but Graser is always in the front of the mix. The young singer has an unaffected, tuneful voice. It is a bit undeveloped, but that fits in with her coffeehouse/folk lyrics. Sometimes, however, it is difficult to understand all the words she is singing.

The songs are pretty straightforward, with uncomplicated melodies and lines such as “We cannot erase the past.” Some are melancholy, like “J.D.C.,” which includes the lines, “There’s no end to the madness/Just sadness, sadness, sadness…”

The first six songs add an occasional banjo and/or harmonica. “How I Feel In September” and “No Vacancy” include some electric guitar, drums and synth. The eighth track, “Instrumental,” is a quiet, effective acoustic guitar piece with some incongruous electronics tacked on at the end.

The closing songs are pretty much just Graser again, with some background and/or overdubbed vocals. The last one is “Grace Amazing,” an interesting take on the traditional “Amazing Grace.”

Graser probably will develop more subtlety as she matures as a writer, but for now she effectively displays the powerful emotions of youth. Anyone into singer/songwriters might be interested in what she has to say.
